La cinqui\u00e8me plus grande \u00eele de la M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e (derri\u00e8re la Sicile, la Sardaigne, Chypre et la Corse) veut vivre sa propre vie viticole. Du moins est-ce le credo de <b>Nicolas Miliarakis, le co-h\u00e9ritier de Minos, une des plus anciennes maisons de vins de la capitale, Heraklion<\/b>. Depuis trois ans, ce jeune \u00e9conomiste, form\u00e9 \u00e0 Paris, se d\u00e9m\u00e8ne comme un beau diable pour faire reconna\u00eetre les vins de Cr\u00e8te et pour \u00abconstruire une image\u00bb, diff\u00e9rente de ceux de Gr\u00e8ce. Dans la \u00abpr\u00e9fecture d\u2019Heraklion\u00bb, les producteurs ont trac\u00e9 deux routes des vins, partant de la mer et s\u2019enfon\u00e7ant dans l\u2019\u00eele sauvage, l\u00e0 o\u00f9 la vigne alterne avec la garrigue et les oliviers. A Vathypetro, dans la montagne, un pressoir sommaire, taill\u00e9 dans la pierre, t\u00e9moigne de l\u2019existence du vin \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque de la civilisation du roi Minos (soit vers 1600 avant J\u00e9sus-Christ). En blanc, le vidiano, le vilana et le thrapsathiri, et en rouge, le liatiko, le kotsifali et le mantilaria (le grand c\u00e9page rouge cr\u00e8tois d\u2019avenir), donnent des vins locaux passionnants. H\u00e9las\u2026 en grec sur l\u2019\u00e9tiquette, illisible pour un consommateur lambda\u00a0! \u00abLe vin se vend bien aupr\u00e8s des touristes. Mais les s\u00e9jours \u00ab\u00a0all inclusive\u00a0\u00bb font du tort aux vins locaux. Les h\u00f4teliers pr\u00e9f\u00e8rent servir du mauvais vin, souvent import\u00e9, pour \u00e9viter de rench\u00e9rir leurs co\u00fbts. Dans plusieurs h\u00f4tels et villages de vacances, on a r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 proposer des vins locaux sur une carte \u00e0 part\u00bb, explique le jeune n\u00e9gociant. En Cr\u00e8te, quelque 50 producteurs de vins, pour 50 millions de litres, ont profit\u00e9 largement des fonds europ\u00e9ens. Chez Minos qui lan\u00e7a le premier vin rouge de Cr\u00e8te \u00e9lev\u00e9 en f\u00fbts de ch\u00eane neufs, il y a 25 ans, Nicolas Miliarakis a plant\u00e9 un vignoble cultiv\u00e9 en bio et vient d\u2019ouvrir un espace de d\u00e9gustation pour les touristes \u00e0 17 km d\u2019Heraklion.
